Memories,
and a Father's Day acrostic
To the Editor on June 23:
During the whole month of June, I have been seeing/hearing
from students I taught or had contact with during my 22-year teaching
career at Odessa-Montour Central School. There were some from way back
at the beginning, in the very early 1970s...some from my more recent
past...many, many precious memories!
Last evening, after spending the better part of the day doing gardening
around my home, I quickly got cleaned up and hurried over to Praise
Team practice at Odessa Baptist Church, where we spent time getting
ready for the younger folks to lead today's Morning Worship. What a
very special group of friends, indeed.
After Praise Team, I hurried down to the Harvest Cafe, where Vera Bush,
a hometown girl gone big in Nashville, was doing a gig. Many of the
folks who attended Vera's show were, once again, familiar faces from
the past -- still even more happy memories of my long and happy teaching
career.
Even though the acrostic below is a week late in arriving, I am hoping
that you will decide to share it. I really do love Odessa, the Town
of Catharine, Schuyler County, NYS, USA, North America, and the World!
