IndyCar drivers Tony Kanaan and Ryan Hunter-Reay held forth during a press conference in the media center in the early afternoon, while nearby -- out in the parking lot -- a fenced-off area offered space where red Mustangs were taking sharp turns, burning rubber, part of a promotion by Marlboro cigarets, which was offering rides in the vehicles for the stout of heart.
