Two Goats Brewing Fundraiser for Schuyler County Habitat for Humanity, 2-5 p.m., Two Goats Brewing, 5027 SR 414. Bands and dancing, cash bar, raffles and prizes.

May 5
Concert of Old Time, Celtic and other music on hammered dulcimers, featuring Ken Kolodner and Mary Lynn Michal, 7:30 p.m., St. James Episcopal Church, 6th and Decatur, Watkins Glen. $20 (children under 14 -- $10; kids under 5 free). Will benefit St. James Medical Mission in memory of Dr. Blanche Borzell. Part of a 4-day dulcimer workshop in its 10th year. Players from all over the east coast come for a weekend of instruction, jamming & music fun.

Red Cross Community Blood Drive, 9:30 a.m.-2:30 p.m., Conference Room 120, Human Services Complex, 323 Owego St., Montour Falls. Sponsored by Schuyler County.

Grand opening of renovated pool, Odessa-Montour High School, 5 p.m. Speeches, first swim, refreshments following.

May 10
A reading by Peter Serko at the Montour Falls Library, 7 p.m. The author will read from his new novel Hattie's War, share how the book came to be, and sign books. Light refreshments provided, no registration required.

May 11
Center Conversation, International Motor Racing Research Center, 610 S. Decatur St., Watkins Glen, 1 p.m., "Oswego Supers: A Legacy of Speed at The Steel Palace" featuring special display car The Purdy Deuce. The history of the famed Oswego Speedway and the evolution of the unique car that races there -- the supermodified. The talk will feature Roy Sova, beginning his 58th year announcing at the track, Dick O'Brien, longtime PR Director, and past and present drivers. For more details, see PSA Page.

Craft Fair, 10 a.m.-2 p.m., B.C. Cate Elementary School, 262 Canal St., Montour Falls, hosted by B.C. Cate PFO. Handmade crafts, local businesses, raffles.

Repeating events:

The Dutton S. Peterson Library in Odessa is open from 10 a.m.-8 p.m. Monday and Tuesday, from 10 a.m.-6 p.m. Wednesday through Friday, and from 10 a.m.-12 noon on Saturday.

The Dutton S. Peterson Library in Odessa hosts Story Time on Tuesdays at 10 a.m. With books, music, art, and play. 

The Dutton S. Peterson Library in Odessa hosts an After School Club Thursdays at 3 p.m. The library has a variety of activities available: build with Legos, make art, play board games, and hang out with friends. Snacks available.

The Community Table at St. Mary's of the Lake Catholic Church, Watkins Glen, Mondays from 5:00-5:45 p.m. Menu varies week to week. All are welcome to join us. Doors open at 4:30 p.m. at the 10th Street entrance.

The "Check it Out Thrift Shop," 6069 Turnpike Road, Mecklenburg, will open for the season on on May 26, 2023. Accepting donations of quality household appliances and kitchen ware, craft items, puzzles, toys, children's clothes, books, furniture, antiques, collectibles and more. Accepting donations by pre-scheduled appointment.Please call 607-279-2462. Preferred dropoff times are Monday or Friday mornings.
