law enforcement announces drug arrests Special to The Odessa File WATKINS GLEN, Nov. 21 -- Schuyler County law enforcement agencies arrested five people Wednesday on grand jury indictments in a joint investigation into the manufacture and distribution of methamphetamine and other illicit drugs. The arrests were part of a a yearlong investigation by the Schuyler County Sheriff’s Office, Watkins Glen Police Department, District Attorney’s Office, DEA, and New York State Police. In a press release, the Sheriff's Office said officials "joined efforts in the past year to eradicate ongoing drug activity in the Schuyler County area" and "made undercover drug purchases, executed search warrants, and enforced federal pseudoephedrine violations." The following individuals were arrested Wednesday on the grand jury indictments: --Mark J. Weldner, 49, of Enfield, charged with criminal sale of a controlled substance in the 3rd degree, a class B felony, for allegedly selling prescription drugs. --Raymond D. Bailey, 56, of Watkins Glen, charged with criminal sale of a controlled substance in the 3rd degree, a class B felony, for allegedly selling prescription drugs. --Andrew S. Rumsmoke, 42, of Watkins Glen, charged with criminal sale of a controlled substance in the 5th degree, a class D felony, for allegedly selling prescription drugs. --Jeremy L. Wright, 33, of Millport, charged with criminal sale of a controlled substance in the second degree, a class B felony, for allegedly selling under ½ ounce of cocaine. --Richard J. Hagenow, 39, of Watkins Glen, charged with criminal sale of a controlled substance in the third degree, a class B felony, for allegedly selling methamphetamine. Officials said the following individuals were arrested during the past year in the same investigation for the following charges: --Richard A. Madorsky Jr, 28, of Watkins Glen, charged with criminal possession of a controlled substance in the 7th degree, a class A misdemeanor, for allegedly possessing methamphetamine. --Jamie L. Broda, 24 , of Beaver Dams, charged with criminal possession of a controlled substance in the 7th degree, a class A misdemeanor, for allegedly possessing methamphetamine. --Justin C. Kraus, 30, of Dundee, charged with criminal possession of a controlled substance in the 3rd degree, a class B felony, for allegedly possessing more than 10 grams of methamphetamine. --Jeremy L. Wright, 33, of Millport, charged with criminal possession of a controlled substance in the 3rd degree, a class B felony, for allegedly possessing over 14 grams of cocaine. --Dawn M. Uber, 25, of Odessa; Stephen A. Jakob Sr, 58, of Watkins Glen, and Richard J. Hagenow, 39, of Watkins Glen, charged with unlawful manufacturing of methamphetamine in the third degree, a class D felony, for allegedly possessing methamphetamine laboratory equipment. --Kyle J. Menio, 30, of Odessa; Mathew T. Menio, 32, of Odessa, and Justin C. Kraus, 30, of Dundee, charged with unlawful manufacture of methamphetamine in the third degree, a class D felony, for allegedly manufacturing methamphetamine, which resulted in a residential fire. Beyond that, the Sheriff's Office said, five individuals were charged in the investigation with a violation of Federal Law in purchaseing medications containing more than 9 grams of pseudoephedrine in a 30-day period. --Margaret Shermer, 54, of Watkins Glen The investigation is ongoing and more arrests are pending, the Sheriff's Office added.
