WGHS bestows its awards

WATKINS GLEN, June 6, 2014 -- Dozens of Watkins Glen High School students received awards and recognition Thursday at the annual Awards Assembly in the school auditorium.

Students running for Student Council offices gave their election speeches to start off the ceremony. Speeches were given by:

-- Mikayla Elliott and Megan Hoy for Treasurer
-- Bernadette Osborne for Secretary
-- Madison Gates for Vice President
-- Abigail Rundle and Tamijah Lawton-Stone for President

The American Red Cross Blood Bank issued thanks to Mr. Watson and the Student Council for running the blood program at the school this year. Students and staff donated 67 pints of blood with 33 first-time donors.
