Ad rates

What follows are our ad rates. Keep in mind that these rates buy advertising available to readers every hour of every day -- 24 hours a day, 7 days a week, and that the number of visits to this website averages in excess of 20,000 per week..

Page Sponsorship

Sponsorship of an interior page gives the sponsor advertising space above the stories on that page. Width is the full width of the story area. Depth is up to three or four inches. Cost is $150 per month for Sports, and $100 per month for any other interior page.

The Home Page's key ad -- considered a sponsorship although different in configuration to those on interior pages, and more expensive -- is held by Schuyler Hospital.

Front Page Center Ad

Beyond the sponsorship on the Home Page, ad space is available in that page’s center section – sprinkled down throughout the promos that lead readers to stories inside. A spot is currently held by The Arc of Schuyler County two spaces below the top ad space. Any ads below that one would be $150 per month.

Front Page, Side Ad:

$100 per month for one of the top three spots on either side. It's $80 per month if below those three and linking to another website.
$60 per month when below the top three and linking to an Ad Page created within The Odessa File (plus a $50 one-time charge for creation of that Ad Page.)
$50 per month if below the top three and there is no link. This will likely be farther down the page.

Inside Page, Side Ad:

$25 per month when linked to another website.
$140 for six months when linked to another website; $250 for a full year.
$20 per month for a stand-alone ad.
$110 for six months for a stand-alone ad;.$200 for full year.
Add $2.50 per month for ad linking to an Ad Page created within The Odessa File.

Business Card:

$5 per week, for a minimum 5 weeks. These are located on a Business Card Page, reached through links from other pages.
With a link from the card to another site: $8 per week ($5 for the card, and $3 for the link).
Six-month purchase, no link, $100; full year is $200.
Six-month purchase with link to another site, $150; full year is $300.

Classified Ads:

$2 for up to 50 words, to run two weeks.

Inside Page, full-width ad within text area:

This is a sort of sub-sponsorship, with placement high on the page, separated from the sponsorship ad by one or two stories. The ad runs across the full width of the text area. Cost is $100/month on the Sports Page, and $75/month on other interior pages. An example is the H.L. Stephens ad that runs on the Sports Page.
